Day 12 - Last of Germany

Beautiful morning view from our hostel
We spent the morning at the Documentation Centre at Obersalzberg learning about the area where Hitler spent his holidays from 1923. It was used as the perfect place to promote Hitler and propaganda portrayed him as something he was not.
Only a few buildings remain in this area as it was bombed heavily by America in 1945.

We then went underground to explore the tunnels and bunker which were built to hide Hitler and connect him to various buildings close by.  This was a very educational visit and we gained a lot from it.
We then went on a walk that Hitler took daily, crowds followed him as he made his way to a tea house. However our best ever tour guides lost a little direction and we had a most strenuous mountain expedition!!
Feeling exhausted we hopped on the bus again to make our way to Innsbruck in Austria. We are waiting here to catch our overnight train to Italy.
